Ernest Cook University Marks a Decade of Academic Excellence at Its 10th Graduation Ceremony

Ernest Cook University (ECU) proudly celebrated its 10th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 29, 2026, under the inspiring theme:

“Nurturing Innovations for Socio-Economic Transformation”

The milestone event brought together distinguished guests, university leaders, faculty members, parents, guardians, alumni, and graduates to commemorate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and reaffirm the University’s commitment to producing innovative professionals who contribute meaningfully to national and global development.

The ceremony was presided over by the University’s Chancellor, Prof. George B. Kirya, alongside the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michael Kawooya, members of the University Council, Deans of Faculties, and Heads of Departments.

The Guest of Honour was Robinah Nabbanja, who was represented by Kabuye Kyofatogabye. Delivering the Commencement Address was Prof. Pontiano Kaleebu, whose remarks challenged graduates to leverage innovation, research, and professional excellence to address the pressing health and development challenges facing society today.

During the ceremony, approximately 420 graduates were awarded qualifications across a range of health sciences, engineering, management, and allied professional disciplines.
