Ernest Cook University (ECUREI) is proud to announce its recent partnership with the Rotary Club of Kiwenda to champion patient health and diagnostic accuracy. In a collaborative effort held at Namulonge Health Centre III, ECUREI joined other leading healthcare providers to mark a significant milestone in community medical outreach.
Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety
Aligned with the global theme “Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety” and the powerful slogan “Get it Right, Make it Safe,” this event emphasized that a safe healthcare journey begins with an accurate diagnosis. ECUREI’s participation centered on providing specialized expertise to ensure that patients receive the right information at the right time.

Prostate Cancer Awareness & Community Impact
As part of the World Patient Safety Day activities, our team focused heavily on Prostate Cancer Awareness. By bringing advanced diagnostic capabilities to Namulonge Health Centre III, we worked to ensure that members of the community could access screenings that are often unavailable in rural settings.
Key activities included:
- Accurate Diagnostic Screening: Ensuring patient safety through technical mastery.
- Educational Sensitization: Teaching the community the importance of early detection.
- Collaborative Care: Working alongside Rotary International to bridge healthcare gaps.
A Shared Vision for a Safer Uganda
Patient safety is a collective responsibility. By partnering with the Rotary Club of Kiwenda, ECUREI continues to demonstrate that “getting it right” in the diagnostic phase is the most effective way to save lives and provide “safe” medical outcomes. We remain committed to community-based interventions that prioritize the well-being of every Ugandan.
